“It Was Worth the Trip; Santa Maria di Lignano”

International Contemporary Art Exhibition – Assisi, Italy

 

During the summer, I participated in an art residency in Assisi, Italy at Artestudio Ginestrelle. This art residency was found in the Subasio mountains on the outskirts of the town of Assisi.  I worked on watercolours there, and one of my paintings will be featured in the International Contemporary Art Exhitibion that is taking place from 1-8/Dec/17.

Art in the Rouge – Saturday 23/Sep/17 – 11 am to 4 pm

I painted outside along the trails in a shady spot in the forest. When I set up in the shady forest, a group of people came by and waited for me to start.  I froze. It was my first time painting in front of strangers. So, I asked if they could give me a little time and come back later. They did.  The photo was taken by one of them. 

Location:   Rouge National Urban Park’s Zoo Road –Welcome Area near 1749 Meadowvale Road

It was my pleasure and joy to display ten landscape paintings in the waiting areas and hallways of Dentistry on Liverpool, Ajax, Ontario.  Bright yellow sunflowers, and calm, peaceful forest refuges greeted patients waiting for what is for some, anxiety producing experiences.  It is my hope that my paintings helped patients feel some joy.
