Afternoon Meseta (Professionally Framed)
2016-Acrylic - 24" x 48" x .5"
Please Note this painting is professionally framed with a beautiful wooden black frame giving it a dramatic look.
The sky seemed to be descending in the horizon, as I walked along the Meseta (plain) on the Camino to Santiago de Compostela (Walk of the Saint). It was afternoon and I had been walking for several hours. Though I was unsure of how much longer till my destination, the gentle breeze through the grass made me not care. I was happy to be where I was.
At this point, I had been walking for close to 30 days. I heard about a group of Dutch brothers who had been walking for several months. As they were approaching Santiago de Compostela, they started to slow down, to stretch out the last kilometres.
I appreciated that. How nice when once has almost reached the goal...knowing the end is in sight. Instead of rushing on, it is nice to stop and savor the journey while still on the journey.
